According to the International Cruise Council of Australia the 2006 cruise figures have shown that 221,000 Australians cruised in 2006! These figures reflect an increase of 18% on the previous year.
Of these 221,000 cruise passengers 63 % (139, 000 passengers) chose to cruise Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. Followed by 15 % ( 33 000 passengers) around Asia and approximately 20 000 in Alaska.
Australian ports have certainly opened their doors to International Cruise lines with an increasing number of superliners visiting our shores.
